The Rising Need For Chinese tuition.

Chinese education has rarely been seen as an essential part of a typical Singaporean’s success career plan until recently. The growing economic power of the great China has injected the need of Chinese education into many nations that wished to ride on the economic wave. Singapore is no exception.

Much emphasis has been placed on promoting Chinese in today’s education system. With the growing importance of the Chinese language, Chinese tuition has become increasingly popular with Singaporeans. With the vision to enter the China market, many Singaporeans have taken up Chinese tuition to improve their ability to speak and write the language. It is not uncommon to see many non-Chinese Singaporeans mastering the Chinese language. Sometimes, these non-Chinese may be speaking the language better than the local Chinese.

Chinese tuition has ridden on the government efforts to promote the language and we can now see many new tuition centers focusing on teaching the language. With the island-wide movement is slowly but surely building the nation’s future economic ties with the great dragon.

The quality of the tutors for Chinese in Singapore is also very high. This is due to the influx of Chinese nationals from china. With our government policy strongly supporting the foreign talents, many Chinese have left their hometown in favor of new opportunities in Singapore. With this new generation of PRC Chinese tutors, the standard of today’s Chinese tuition is at a good level.

Ideal tuition realized the importance of Chinese tuition and therefore provides a platform to match students with our pool of qualified Chinese language tutors. It is important to note that although these tutors may be from China, their command of the language has to be verified too. With this safety measure in place, Ideal Tuition wishes the best for all students who are learning the Chinese language, the same language that people such as Confucius speaks.

Tuition Industry Lacks Regulation.

 noethics

There is an article regarding the tuition industry on Straits Time on the 19th of August 2010. It was a forum reply to address the lack of regulation in the Singapore’s tuition industry.

It is very relevant to the tuition environment in Singapore as there is no clear customer protection against any unethical tuition agencies currently. Ideal Tuition believes the importance of a standard code of conduct for these agencies. This will benefit the general interest of the consumers and prevent any black sheep from spoiling the image of Singapore’s tuition agencies. A representative body for the tuition industry will likely to be set up in the near future. Before that time arrives, Ideal Tuition will first ensure the protection of its own consumers and encourage other agencies to follow suit.

Ideal Tuition current form of feedbacks includes email feedback at enquiry@idealtuition.com and our online live support at www.idealtuition.com/contact%20us . Ideal Tuition always encourages feedbacks for our services in order for us to serve you better. If you feel that our service is not up to your expectation, tell us, we will try our best to improve, we promise.

Singapore Home Tuition vs Group Tuition

The demand for private tuition has been on the rise due to the ever increasing need for a quality education to prepare our next generation for their career.

The quality of Singapore’s education system is top-notched and is a good platform for anyone to gain abundance of knowledge. However, living in a very competitive environment, today’s parents want their children to have an edge over the rest in their academic achievements. This mindset pushes the development of local tuition agencies over the past few years. The need for tuition has evolved from a want to a need.

But for private tuition: Do You Choose Home Tuition or Group Tuition?

· Cost

Generally, group tuition will be must cheaper than home tuition, unless in special cases whereby the group tuition is taught by a very well-known tutor. As tuition fees are always an important concern by the students, group tuition will be preferred. However, one must also consider the value of the service that one has paid for. A rule of thumb will be that good service doesn’t come cheap normally. A well qualified home tutor will need to be rewarded for his/her quality home tuition. We strongly recommend quality home tuition unless tuition fee is the most important concern.

· Convenience

For home tuition, the tutor normally goes to the student’s house for the tuition. However, it is the other way round for group tuition. Students nowadays are facing a very busy schedule. They are either learning new skills or participating in enrichment courses. Thus, it is important to ensure minimum time is wasted on redundant matters. If you agree that time is an important issue, home tuition will be more suitable. If not, a nearby group tuition is also a good alternative.

· Control

In a class of five to twenty, it is difficult for any teacher to suit every student’s learning style. The teaching method may not be the most suitable for some students. Home tuition fills up this gap by providing the condition for the tutor to specifically modify his/her teaching style to the student’s learning ability.

· Quality

Quality of home tuition and group tuition cannot be easily compared due to the large variation of each tutor’s teaching ability. However, home tuition provides the suitable environment for the home tutor to maximize his/her teaching ability.

So is it Home Tuition or Group Tuition? Make your choice today.

Before the tuition lesson
  • Call up the parent 1 day prior to lesson to confirm the timing, and also to find out what topics you’re required to go through.
  • Revise on your topics to make sure you’re still fresh with your concepts!
  • Plan your lesson briefly: are you going to use your student’s textbook or your own materials to teach?
  • Is there a need to give homework; if yes, how much? Buy assessment books?
  • Dress smartly and appropriately to leave a good impression.
  • Plan your trip to arrive 5-10 mins early and leave a good impression. Don’t just try to be on time! If you are really going to be late, please be responsible enough to tell the student beforehand.
Transportation Guide:

During the tuition lesson
  • Switch your handphone to silent mode. “Silence is golden.”
  • Warm up to your student by asking about his school, and how he is coping with the subjects
  • Set one or more academic goals with your student. But be realistic!
  • Be calm and enjoy the teaching experience!
After the tuition lesson
Gather feedback from your student. Ask him whether he is able to absorb what you have taught.
Note : The above serves as a reminder only and is by no way exhaustive.
