Super Tutors
Good tutors charge premium tuition rates. “Super-tutors” charge up to S$2000 ( £1,000) per hour for home tuition. Elite tutors in Britain have been earning a very decent income by tutoring. Many of them have graduated from elite schools such as Oxford.
The affluent and rich who can afford such services usually just want their children to get into the same elite schools where the tutors graduated from. But does it matter if your tutor comes from such schools? Are the sky-high fess justified?
Perhaps we should let the market forces decide if these tutors are worth the bucks. If you are rich enough, you can try to hire tutors who charge more. You should then get feedback from your child to see if you are putting your money in the right pocket. If you are a middle-class, there are still plenty of great and passionate tutors who teaches at affordable rates. No matter who you hire, their actual performance matters more than their resume!
